Alright,
its been a solid two or three months since the last blog, I apologize for my previous actions
considering I have such a huge following on this people were constantly hounding me to pump out a new blog,
"Connor why can't you just sit down and commit? We need a new blog to satisfy our creative need as followers."
To those of you asking this question let me explain my previous situation,
It was about half way through my last semester of freshman year at Iowa State University, my grades had unfortunately turned into a large pile of shit, as did my eating habits and sleep patterns. I spent the majority of my time drinking on random school nights, playing shows with the band often, and participating in other illegal activities. So naturally my mind switched into serious mode, and I made the transition from indulging in all the pleasantries that life had to offer to a serious college student with a lot on the line. The semester ended up turning out alright, grades came up to about 3.0 and I saved my ass from own parents wrath.
In other news, I had a kick ass time at Iowa State, made some really awesome friends, got initiated into a wonderful fraternity, and even met some cool girls in the process. I'm not really sure what this summer has in store for me, but the first 2 days have already been pretty bland, thanks to the dismal weather and lack of recreational activities in mason city Iowa, but It can't be all that bad.
I love coming back to this town for a few specific reasons,
1. My friends
I get surrounded my some cool dudes at home, a lot of inside jokes, tv watching, cigar smoking, and basement drinking occur when I come back home. We may not be the most eventful bunch of kids, but we make due with the situation we're stuck in when not attending school.
2. Kind of my family, and my dogs
Both are good in small doses, but as usual good ol' mom and pops take everything a step too far when I'm home.
My main concern about the town this summer is, will everything be as cool and awesome as it once was? I think overall the answer is yes, regardless of the current excitement state of this god awful town I still manage to have fun with all the boyds.
I think The Wonder Years put it best when they wrote,
I'm not sad anymore I'm just tired of this place, if this year would just end I think we'd all be ok!!!
by the way, the upsides has consumed my life for the past two weeks, give it a listen
woot woot
